Condor
« on: Jan 24, 11, 05:25:06 AM »
I recently mounted a 220 ground plane antenna on my roof (not very high.) I've had some fun working the Condor system. I am running 1.5 watts with a Yaesu VX-6R and I can work the Frazier Mountain machine from the Jackson Lake area. Hopefully the Quartzite Mountain machine gets linked back up.

Does anyone else work Condor?

I know Clint KB6CLA is a big proponent of 220 Mhz in general, and Condor in particular.  He is usually on the Blue Ridge or Frost Peak 220 Mhz machine.

I think Ron KI6SLK is also working 220 regularly.  I don't have 220 in the vehicles, just on HTs, so I only work them from home (when I actually am home...).

Hey Matt,

I've talked to Clint and Ron on the frost machine. I'm surprised there are not more people on Condor. It's a fun system. I imagine having the Victorville link down keeps it a bit inaccessable for people in our area.
