As part of the Grassy Hollow Visitor Center Summer Program Series...

Local author and historian Barbara Van Houten will be doing a presentation on the History of Big Pines... IN the Historic Big Pines Recreation Hall. 

It should be a great talk in a wonderful setting with slides/ pictures of a great era-  in and around our community!

Time: 1 PM     (Lasting about an hour or so...)

Where: Big Pines Ranger Station, in the Recreation Hall

FREE- (seating provided for approximately 50 people)

No Adventure Pass required;

Please park on Hwy 2  along the turnouts on either side of the road,  immediately to the east of the flag pole at the Ranger Station...

(The 15 minute parking areas will NOT be enforced, so those areas are OK

I want to thank the "Volunteers of the Angeles National Forest" for putting on this event.

The campfire program was great.  It was fantastic to see Tom Vincent himself, in person, telling the fasinating stories of his life.

It was an added treat that Tom Vincent was there at the cabin the next day to greet the visitors who hiked on down to his cabin and invite them in for a look.  My niece came home with a piece of "gold" that Tom had laying around his place.   ;D

Good job Charles Vincent Dougherty, ah, I mean Tom Vincent...  ;D
