Jean Hermansen's condition
« on: Sep 07, 20, 01:14:52 PM »
This from Clint Kearns:

For those of you in the village who remember Jean Hermansen!

Got a call from Jean's son--she is dying of massive colon cancer.

It has spread to her stomach and she stated she wishes no surgery or life saving action.

She is at home with hospice care and morphine. Early in the week doctor gave her three days but she is still hanging on. She has not eaten anything in three weeks. Hospice nurse says it will be soon now.

There will be no service, ashes to be spread in the outdoors.

Doubt if there will be an obit and she has not had the opportunity to make many friends in OR.

She had been poorly for a while, not hungry, not eating much and having difficulty keeping anything down.  On July 5th she said she had an appointment to go see a different doc and get "a test". Jean was not very good with medical jargon. She went in for a colonoscopy and they didn't get very far, they suspected bowl obstruction, did surgery and found a massive tumor.

An update from Clint: She passed last night at 5:00. Children and a cat all around her.

Her ashes will be scattered along the PCT in Oregon.
