My favorite site to watch has become Eaglecrest Wildlife...been watching for over a year. Things are busy in the nests! Wilma the goose is sitting on 8 eggs in the Home nest, which are due to hatch tomorrow. They will all hatch in one day and are due to jump from the nest which is 35 feet up in an abandoned hawk nest, on Monday the 1st, within 24 hrs of hatching. Last year's jump was amazing...you can see a video of the jump on the site.
Below Wilma, in the tree hole is Tess the Barn Owl and her brood. She laid 7 eggs and looks like three have hatched so far. Her mate Count Barney joins her in the hole at night , dubbed "the love shack", and brings her tasty treats
Stitch, the Red-tailed Hawk, is sitting on what looks like two eggs in the West Hawk nest
Golden Eagles have a nest in a far tree on Cam 14, difficult to see because of the distance.
It looked like Red Shouldered hawks were going to take the South Hawk nest, but the Red-tails chased them away.
And, there is The Pond, where action takes place all the time, and where Fred and Wilma will take their goslings after the jump, to meet their last year's brood. Fred watches out for them on the pond while Wilma is up in the tree.
There are 14 cameras operating 24/7, and facilitators operating them. Go to:
