Time to install the hose bib covers, and check my outside pipe insulation!

One thing many people fail to do is drain their garden hoses completely.
If you need to grab a hose to put out a fire it won't work when water is frozen in it.

I have been using these for many years.  Very durable and has lasted many years.

Last year I thought I had covered all my bases, but I did not think of the faucets in my garage.  Wouldn't you know it, one burst at 11pm. Luckily I heard the water shooting out of the nipple and was able to turn the water off and fix it the next morning.

I use this as a reminder to insulate everything outside of my house.
