See You On The Other Side.....

48 years ago, Chris and I came to Wrightwood on our wedding day, November 25, 1972.  We lived in my parents cabin at the top of Lark and there were far fewer full time residents then there are now.  We were mentored by some wonderful people...many of whom are no longer with us.  I found a career that offered a way to support my family and make a difference in people's lives as well.  We raised our two kids and two grand kids in this beautiful place.  It was a wonderful place for all of us.  As most know, we lost Chris last July.  I vowed I would do nothing major for a year.  Exactly one year and a day after, the owner of this cabin and five acres in Bellvue Idaho signed the fifth offer and I became owner of another amazing log home for the dogs, horses and I.  When I first saw this cabin last October I toldm my son after the tour, "If your Mother was alive right not, I would be writing a check."  It reminds me so much of our beloved home on Oriole and Pine.  Currently, our little Quail Ridge Ranch is for sale and we are in the process of moving a lifetime of accumulation seven hundred miles.  This is not something I took lightly but after several trips out there, know that this will be our final place.  Don't think I've not shed tears making this decision but this is my next journey in a beautiful place very similar to Wrightwood.  I will always be grateful for the wonderful friends and neighbors over the years.  I know I will meet new ones with the same values as we found here in our little village.  It's my next adventure.

What a beautiful home you are moving to.  And the land around it!!  Breathtaking!  You are going to be missed so much here in Wrightwood.  You have been a staple here and we can't tell you how many times we heard you calming us down when fires were in the area, hearing how your grandson Conner would be sleeping soundly in his bed that night, in an effort to reassure us.  I hope you stay connected with our local Social Media so we can know you are ok.  It has been such a hard year for you and your family, and I will pray that this next phase of your life brings you happiness and peace.  Godspeed, Jim.

That is a beautiful property, well earned. There are some good trout spots up there, keep us updated!
