Summit Fire - Santa Cruz/Santa Clara counties in Northern California

I know folks with property in that area, and have wandered a bit around those mountains as well.  Very windy in that area at the moment, which isn't helping...

In the SJ Mercury News story, with the timestamp of 1:45 PM, is a story of a couple who lost their home.  I've been on their property several times, and it is a total loss.

My heart goes out to them, and everyone else affected by this fire.

There actually were a great deal of federal ground and aerial resources on the Summit Fire.

CDF (CAL FIRE) uses their website http://www.fire.ca.gov and the federal agencies use http://www.inciweb.org for updates.

On any major incident in California, there will be a collection of local, state, and federal resources assigned regardless of how it is reported.

The Calfire site still does not indicate any USFS resources. It does list several other non Calfire agencies.
And Inciweb does not list the fire at all.

The 05/24 (1800) Incident Status Summary (ICS-209) lists 12 - Forest Service Type 1 Crews, 2 - Forest Service Type 3 Engine Strike Teams, 1 - Type 2 Dozer, and 8 - Overhead positions assigned to the fire.

The 1800 report from tonight shows 5 FS crews, 1 FS Engine Strike Team, 1 FS Dozer, and 9 FS Overhead still committed.
