Jim, et al.. I think the distinction here is that Rep. Cook has one proposal and Senator Feinstein has another proposal.. and she's also pushing for Obama to use the Antiquities Act to declare National Monument status for the areas she's designated in her bill. Short answer to your question.. from my perspective is that neither one of these proposals guarantee any more money for any area.. however they may be declared what the whatever by whom. It is simply another pissing match between the Reps and the Dems. However, some areas could be preserved under National Monument status a lot faster than under Rep. Cook's proposal.
Plus, I do remain concerned about the mining operations that would be protected in Cook's bill. My take.. cheryl o7o
