Oh my cheeses, those are keeper photos for sure.
Just when you think you've seen it all, you're always proved wrong.
Not to make light, but my go to Zen is planned kitche nesting, sourdough sandwich loaf, deli roast beef and roasted vegetable and butternut squash soup. Good luck to you on the other side of town! ??

Seriously, I think the local news stations should stay around for the entire day and report on the traffic jams, illegal parking and trespassing on private property.  They should also show the gridlock at the END OF THE DAY as everyone is leaving.

The news crews show up in the morning touting all the new snow and Mt High being open (but sold out), but do not show what a total mess it is during the day and when leaving.  This alone might deter people from wanting to put up with all of the congestion.

Excellent points, Moose.  I'm so blessed that I live on a quiet street, off the beaten path, yet still only a few blocks from town.

Maybe send these pictures to the news stations, with a short narrative.

Rules for Residents On Snow Player Invasion Days:
1. Don't even THINK about leaving the village! You'll never get back home, and you probably will have to live by a freeway offramp until spring. Charge your cell phone to take pictures of unique activities in town later.
2. Don't drive....anywhere! There maybe someone on the road who knows how to drive in snow and ice, but that is highly doubtful.
3. Stay home in the morning and make soup. Have a mimosa (or 5). Stare blankly at the driveway full of snow.
4. You MAY go out in the afternoon, if you walk, and are wearing your Yaktrax. If you see a car, within about a mile, on your street, step into the nearest side street or driveway, and try to hide behind a tree, ESPECIALLY if the vehicle is going downhill! (Those suckers can't stop!!)
5. Have a happy beverage at a local restaurant that has safe outdoor seating. Take pictures of unique activities happening on the main drag.
6. Eventually slither home, wade through the driveway you didn't shovel, and go inside and make a hot toddy.

Nolena -  I would only add to fill a thermos with mimosas for the trek to the local establishment .. and fill it again for the trek home.

We moved here in March 1977, and for the first 24 years we lived here, I worked at a hospital in San Bernardino.  One day in the early 80s or so, I had to work a shift that started at noon, so this must have been late morning, on a Saturday, but when I got to the 2/138 intersection, there was a CHP officer blocking the uphill lane.  It was already crowded up here, and only residents were allowed to come up.  I had my window rolled down so I could speak to the officer, and several in the crowd that was jammed there, wanting to come up, asked me jokingly, with smiles on their faces, to let them borrow my ID.  I have no idea what their criteria were for doing that, but it would be great if they could reinstate it.  After 40 or so years I don't remember every detail, but it was pretty cool.

It really is sad over here on the West Side of town.  For the most part, you can't even leave your home.  And, if you do, they'll take over and destroy your lot and property.
The county does nothing and the CHP has their hands tied.

Something has to be done.

After leaving the Largo Vista area the super spreaders invade Charlie Brown's in Littlerock with zero social distancing.

KTLA5 interviewed me at mh.  I called them fake news and of course it wasn't aired.  lol.
