A small plane is down in the Phelan area.
Smoke was reported in the cockpit before going down.

Fire crews are responding to the area of La Mesa Rd & Sonora Rd (near the aqueduct)

Do they remove the wings?

Yeah, generally the wings would be removed (or folded, if it was a plane with foldable wings) I Haven't seen any news reports, so I don't know what kind it was, but yeah, its going to cost someone some money ;)

Channel 7 now reporting this plane is registered to Dick Rutan (C-150). They also say "no injuries"
