Grass Valley, San Bernardino NF. IMT 2 (Kaage). Twelve miles north of San Bernardino, CA. Timber and grass. Group tree torching, crown runs and spotting. Numerous structures threatened. Evacuations in effect.

Slide, San Bernardino NF. CAL FIRE IMT 1 (McGowan). Ten miles north of San Bernardino, CA. Timber and grass. Group tree torching, crown runs and spotting. Numerous communities, gas lines and ski facilities threatened. Evacuations in effect.

GRASS VALLEY FIRE (Lake Arrowhead & Twin Peaks area)
1000+ acres
0% containment (downgraded from 5%)
100 structures, 6,000 threatened
548 personnel

The fire is in Miller Canyon and the spread has been to the west.  The east side has been holding.

SLIDE FIRE (Green Valley Lake & Running Springs area)
5119 acres
0% containment
200 structures, 4,000 threatened
564 personnel

Resources are being shared between both fires.  The Type I team took over fire management this morning.

EVACUATIONS
Everything west of Snow Valley to Crestline is now under a mandatory evacuation, with the exception of Valley of Enchantment and Cedar Pines Park.  Valley of Enchantment, Cedar Pines Park and East Highland remain under a voluntary evacuation.

The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at the Victorville Fairgrounds and the National Orange Show in San Bernardino (enter through Gate 9).
 
ROAD CLOSURES
All roadways leading into the San Bernardino Mountains are closed to upbound traffic with the exception of Hwy 38 and the backside of Hwy 18 from Lucerne Valley.  Westbound Hwy. 18 from the Big Bear Dam is also closed.
