Wild Horse Canyon
« on: Nov 11, 07, 04:23:07 PM »
Hi, I don't know if this is the correct category to post this question - so if not, kindly advise?

Can anyone on Wrightwood Forum tell me if they happen to know if there are any lots or vacant property available for sale in Wild Horse Canyon?  I am looking for 1/2 acre or 1 acre to build small environmentally friendly cabin.  The entrance to Wild Horse Canyon appears to be private road - is it okay to drive there to see if any real estate signs posted?

thanks.

Drive with respect for dust and poor sight lines and you will have no problem.
You might check with some of our local realtors also.

The entrance you may be talking about is the one off of 138, and that was closed and gated when they completed the highway work. You can still access the area off of Hwy 2, near the ski shop.

Technically the entire valley area from the old shooting range road on Hwy 2 up to Hwy 138 is known as Horse Canyon.

Wildhorse Canyon is actually south of the ski shop.
I'll see if I can post a USGS portion of the map.

Note: The dirt road at the lower left (near the red 3) also goes into a canyon called Wildhorse Canyon.
