A new project is underway, propelled by Wrightwood Historical Society president John Lenau and Terry Graham. It is a salute to the community's World War II and Korean War Veterans. Even though our deepest respect and prayers go to all our veterans in all the wars up to present day, the Wrightwood Historical Society is urging help in getting the World War II and Korean War Veteran's history and thoughts on paper and on audio tape while their memory is still sharp. Also in the thought stages are plans to erect a memorial to these war veterans. Ideas on how to better honor our veterans are strongly encouraged. Any ideas about the type of memorial is also encouraged. Special attention will also be given to the Fallen, those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service for their country, no matter the war. The brave souls, the service men and women of our Armed Services, are the cornerstone of this nation's freedom. Because of their selfless dedication and willingness to serve, may we honor them through our daily thoughts and prayers.
