Big Rock Creek to HW2

Can someone tell me if the Forest Service road from Big Rock Creek up to the Baden Powell trailhead parking lot is open and passable for an average SUV?  I have to get the kids above this June gloom crud before they shrivel up infront of the game consoles.  I took this short cut during dry conditions last year and it was fine.

The Big Rock Creek road is open all the way through and was recently graded by the Forest Service.  I drove it last week and it is in great shape passable with two wheel drive vehicles.  I would recommend that your vehicle have some clearance for the water crossings and occasional small rocks on the truck trail.

Glad to hear that trail is open, We have wanted to go on that trail for a while. That is a great short trail, not hard at all.
you do need a truck or SUV, I wouldn't drive a car, the water crossings do get deep.

Yesterday (Sunday) My Brother and his kids, a friend of ours plus his family, and me and my kids decided to put the tops down on our Jeeps and go Jeepin'. We did the big rock creek trail and turned around and came back up, then drove down Pinyon Ridge Truck trail to 4N12 going to Jackson lake.

For some reason I remember the Big Rock trail being shady. I didn't see any signs that the forestry service clear cutting trees, but there were massive piles of dead brush next to the creek bed.
The Pinyon Truck trail to 4N12 was our favorite of the day. These trails are easy and well maintained, also nice and shady, and provide some awesome scenery. We didn't see any wild life but we did see evidence of some...bear poop.

I'm glad to see the trails open again, and will enjoy them more.
