Michael Jackson in Full Arrest
« on: Jun 25, 09, 02:26:03 PM »

PER TMZ.com
We've just learned Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Los Angeles ... and we're told it was cardiac arrest and that paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance.

He was picked up at his home around 20 minutes ago -- we're told his mother is on the way to visit him.

UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.

UPDATE: A Jackson family member tells TMZ Michael is in "really bad shape" and the brothers are headed to UCLA.

UPDATE: We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says "he is not doing well."

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.

Story developing...

WOW! I am back in Gary, Indiana right now where I grew up. Michael was born here too and I remember when his family would perform locally..and then they got famous. It is too bad that Michael's life the last few years was so screwed up.

Wow.  If anybody has any tickets to Michael Jackson's upcoming tour, I'd get them on Ebay right away, before everybody learns about this.

Hmm. Major news channels are reporting he's in a coma, not dead. I would wait to get the full confirmed story.

Looks like he might have left the Beatles catalog to Paul McCartney in his will.  That's pretty cool I gotta say.

So shocking, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album was great!  His musical talents will be missed and condolences to his family!

I suppose we are looking at a weekend of ceaseless yammerings about Jackson.  FM radio is already broadcasting Michael Jackson Marathon Weekend.

What is it [about us] that drives us to idolize moral reprobates, like Jackson..........like Madonna..........like Dennis Rodman.....and.....and.....and..... the list is never ending.

Looks like it's another Anna Nicole Smith, he was given a shot of Demerol prior to the incident. First off, Demerol is rarely used anymore for many reasons. Another celebrity doctor may get charged. I have no doubt Michael had chronic pain from all his years of dancing, etc, however, Demerol is NEVER used for chronic pain. If he had a decent MD, he would have been on the proper pain control meds, not Demerol injections (there is rumor he had an injection every day)!!!

Rather than judge people not as perfect as yourself, maybe you could instead have Christian charity and feel sorry the for genius that burned too brightly and feel sad for the child and man that he could have been with parents who weren't abusive and exploitive???

I remembered how Michael used to undergo some sort of fountain of youth hyper-baric treatments.  Now that he is gone, I thought to myself, "That didnt work."

Unless Michael had some sort of cardiac anomalies, his death seems to be "premature".  Im wondering if he OD on something like coke.

The doctor (reported to be a Las Vegas Cardiologist) that gave that demerol injection...is missing! The police are looking for him. The LAPD has towed the doc's vehicle from Michael's house.

Reports are that the people around him, including his live-in physician (who cannot be found right now), were enabling his dependency on morphine derivatives which he's had off and on since he was burned in that fire. The physician gave him a demerol shot at 11:30 and 911 was called around 12:30. His family say that they have been trying to get him into a rehab situation. Shoulda, coulda, woulda...

I am disturbed as much as anyone about what his life became, but feel sad for his life no matter how successful it was. I wonder, and I am judging now, what his life would have been with parents that let him play with other kids in addition to working on music, a father who was not (reportedly) abusive. The pressure of what to do with your career/life when you've had more success than any musician before you by your 20s and 30s. The artificial life he led as an adult without 'regular' people around him like you and me, just paid employees. How alone such a life is when you're in this kind of bubble. Being a 'star' and leading a regular life doesn't happen without a lot of work and the right people around you. He certainly didn't have the latter. What could have been...

I feel the most sorrow for his children, who had no choice to who they were born to. Will Debbie Rowe take the 2 kids who are biologically hers? That would mean the kids would be separated. Or will the Jackson family raise them? This type of story is what soap operas are made of...

As I watch the news I see that his faither Joe, is out there promoting his new business/record company. It's clear that he's more concerned about the money rather than the passing of his son  Angry

So funny you mentioned that, Agape. My husband and I were talking this morning and I told him that I just didn't like the way the dad was coming across. He doesn't seem to be grieving so much as he is making sure his son is remembered as a legend, and his own gain.

I guess everyone grieves differently, but I just don't get a great feeling about him.

You should have seen Joe basking in the glory, having fun at the BET awards. Disgusting.

Michael had said he was abused. Among other things, when they were little and practiced routines, Joe had the belt out for when they messed up. Sick. He called him Joe, not father or dad. Imagine how he might have turned out in a nurturing environment...

Wonder what kind of upbringing Joe had Huh

Imagine if Joe was brought up in a nurturing environment....

Some point the finger at Michael for his wrong doings, some blame his father Joe!   argue

I say where the heck is Joe's father?!  I say he's the one we need to stone!   fa-devilwink

I'm not clear on what you meant. Are you commenting on the generational cycle of domestic violence or are you being sarcastic about our comments?
