Yup, just liike I'd always heard - - straight through the middle of my house, literally.

I carry earthquake insurance, but if I'm flattened or sucked into the fault when it hits, at least my kids will get something out of it!

Exactly. I look to be about 500 feet from it... like that would make a difference.

I was inspired to look it up by this somewhat alarming story I saw today about recent tremor activity on the fault nearby. I wonder if it is related to the studies that were done on the fault near Wrightwood a couple years ago.

We learned about this quake during a visit at the Mission San Juan Capistrano.

I completely sympathize.  We're on Lark, the trace runs between Robin and Oriole.

Not that a block is going to a whole lot of difference...

Being on Robin, like you, I'm on the American Plate.  Our neighbors to the South (South of Robin/Oriole) are on the Pacific Plate which is slowly making it's way to San Francisco.  When the Fault has the large lateral shift we are expecting, they'll make a good dent in that travel, perhaps up to 30 feet.

I remember in the 60's that Robin Circle was nothing but a sag pond orswamp in the middle of it, indicating the existance of the fault line running through or near it.  Though much smaller than "the bog" which is the name we now give "Wright's Lake", we had a lot of fun catching tad poles and frogs during the summer.

I had looked before but since it's hard to find my house on the the google maps I never really counted feet --- I finally figured out where we are under all the trees and we're 500 ft away too. It goes right through our street just up a few houses. Course we're further than the last house we owned up here - we were 200 ft away from the fault. I feel soooo much safer

I just paid our yearly pound of flesh, errrr, earthquake insurance.  It keeps going up from year to year, but I'd hate to be without it when the quake occurs...

Thanks so much for the great San Andreas fault map that we can zoom in on to find out exactly where it is - and I have learned the house I have been renting for the past 2 years i right on the fault at Twin Lakes and Walnut.

An interesting thing happened yesterday. I spoke with a local realtor who says realtors have no responsiblity to renters to tell them when the rental property is actually situated on the San Andreas fault.  Sorry, but I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing they rented a house to a family and did not let them know that if there is a 7+ earthquake along the San Andreas fault, people and pets on the fault could die - family items could be destroyed.

At the end of Sept. I hope to move but tenants need to check out where the fault runs because realtors are not going to give any heads up.

well that's sticks, I'm on the ocean side of the fault by 200 feet. If that don't beat all, I thought I had some beach front property.

I knew I was close because the fault parallels LPC for a while and I'm on Easter. But yikes, this sure brings it home! Did I mention that I hate earthquakes?   :o
