I've never seen fleas either, but I have a friend who finds ticks on her dog from time to time and has to remove them.  She's out in the forest with her dog a lot.  I don't think there would be any worry in town.

Speed racer, are your sod getting ticks in town or hiking? So far folks have only commented here about when hiking so that is important info.
