Geez...I went down to V V for supplies at about 1:30 and it was a parking lot on the westbound side......unbelievable. There was even people playing on ghetto snow at the levels. Came home 15 to 138 to LPC. At the top of LPC were more people parked on the side of the road over the white line.  I rolled down the window and started yelling "go home",lol. These people are nuts and or desperate.

Mr. Artology came to pick me up at Ontario airport around 2 pm and saw lots of players along LPC. Also saw 3 CHP cars rousting them.

On my way to Jensens at about 5 pm, I saw two CHPs in the residential areas. Near the country club, where snowplayers were playing, I passed a Sheriff, who was on the loud speaker saying "You are on private property--you must leave immediately".

We were both impressed by increased law enforcement. Thanks!

Freighthauler, what is ghetto snow?    I don't why anyone would want to play in this stuff.    Most of the stuff on my property is so dirty that my own kids won't even play with it.        I went to visit my Mother In Law who lives on Apple and found a family having a picnic right in front of her apartment.     At least no one asked to use her bathroom but did ask for a trash bag.

The number of snow players in residential areas is the most I've seen in 26 years. Total disrespect for private property can be seen all over town. Here's a totally private property area at the corner of Elm & Linnet. Trash everywhere!!

SB County Fire had numerous reports of open bon fires throughout the Wrightwood area. WW Fire Station 101 was so busy with incidents and fighting traffic they had a hard time getting to the bon fires.

WW could the CHP use the pic you took that contained license plate numbers to site the offenders?

Diaper wars!!! Funny (not ha-ha, but coincidentally), my family lives in the foothills of the Sierras and has similar problems with snowplayers. Without my even mentioning it, they commented on the dirty diaper litter problem.

Does there appear to be any rhyme or reason as to which private property they use?  For example, do they seek out unoccupied property, easy street parking, etc.?

Yesterday, there was a group of people playing in our driveway. The thing that mad eme the angriest was that the were parked IN OUR DRIVEWAY blocking our car in. I went out there and told them that they are on private property and the cops were on the way. They scrambled pretty quick. ;)

I knew it was going to be one of those weekends!  Stocked up on every thing that might be needed on Friday and decided not to leave the house!  Glad that the east side gets a little more sun.....didn't see any snow players on my block.

I'm on my way to your neighborhood tomorrow with my wife and 2 pre-school daughters. I'm doing research on where we can get out of our car and play in some snow for a while.  This is so interesting to read about snowplayers and ghetto snow and diapers. Now I know how NOT to behave. I'm going to do my best to be very respectful of your yards, eat a meal at a local restaurant, and have a fun time.  I totally understand where you're coming from, and hope we don't ruin your day..... :)

I think you'll find, we welcome people who come here to enjoy our beautiful town and all it has to offer. But, we have no patience for people who disrespect our property and make a general nuisance of themselves.

When Mountain High North is announced as an open snow play area, on all Los Angeles television stations at once, the problems will increase exponentially!

snowplayer...

Welcome to the Wrightwood forum!
Wrightwood has always welcomed guests from all over the world and I don't think that will ever change.

No community likes to be invaded with disrespectful visitors.

Thanks for your comments and enjoy your day  :welcomehere:

Cool. Duly noted. We come in peace (at least us 4 from LA) and without unnecessary static. If you have any tips on how to do it in style, I'll be checking the forum in the morning before we head out. I don't really like not having much of a plan. I know that my girls want to just run around and get tired for a while, but Mountain High doesn't advertise that as an attraction. I'll be calling them to see if they have a toddler type snow park, and if they do, I'd fork over movie money for that. Otherwise, we'll just get in line and o where the CHP herds us.
