I hope you are all ready for the weekend.  Do you have plenty of supplies so you don't have to venture out on our roads this weekend?  If it were snowing we would have much more of a mess....looks like it will just be a busy weekend.

I think it is great that so many parents are willing to make the trip to our beautiful area to play with the children in the snow.  My only hope at this point is that what ever they bring they take home with them (including the kids).

Have a great weekend everyone............

I think so too, Carol. I do get annoyed at traffic and cars sticking out into the road, but I like seeing the families together. It's a good thing.

The snow players do bother me, but I think some Wrightwoodians could show some class.  We sent some friends from down the hill up to some forestry land and they were chased off by some person with a shotgun who sat and cursed.  Although I agree that most of the snowplayers are rude and trash leaving people, but couldn't we use some human kindness and give some people the benefit of the doubt and ask kindly for them to leave if they are bothering you?  I find it very rude and wrong of this person....the family has a  5 year old who I am sure was scared out of her mind.  We sent them to that location, knowing there were homes around, but that it was forestry land, and not owned by the residents of Wrightwood.  This is a good family that is responsible enough to pick up their trash and to leave things just as nice as they found them.  Threatening people is not an answer.....Afterall, the invasion does bother me, but I am not driven to verbal assult with a deadly weapon, just because they are having fun.  I also want to hand out trash bags, but don't hold guns to peoples faces saying they have to get out.  I know this is just my 2 scents, but I thought it was worth posting.

Yikes!  Did anyone call the sheriff on this guy?  Where is this area exactly?  I don't want to stumble across this friendly S.O.B.

When you say Wrightwoodians need to show some class......I think most of us do not go to this extreme......heck I don't even own a gun.......

diget7,
I have awarded by very valuable karma point for the idea of handing out trash bags.  I am so sorry your friends had such a bad experience in in WW.  Maybe your idea can be expanded on......the folks would probably leave the bags behind but that would be easier to pick up than having trash scattered over the area.

I don't mind the snowplayers, the only way that I do mind is if they are blocking the street to go play in the wash off of Lone Pine like today.  You can't get anywhere with these people I mean they are parked on the side of the street but there is only room for one car to go through maybe.  I don't mind the snowplayers unless they keep us from living our lives.

And although the drive is private, the land at the top is Forestry Land and not privately owned.

I hate to be nit picky on this but that is not totally true.
It is private property for a ways after the road ends and before you reach Forest Service property.

Being chased off by someone with a shotgun needs to be reported.

I was really surprised coming up Hwy2 from Victorville and we passed 3 Highway patrol cars. I hope they gave a couple tickets out to the cars double parked on the highway! I can put up with the people, but I draw a line when I have to go into the ONCOMING traffic to get into town.....BLAH!!

Hopefully the cops will be up here on patrol more often on the weekends. Call me crazy, but I like a little order when there are a million people in this little town :)

Sounds like the lady at the end of Acorn hasn't sold her house.  We were hoping.  She's the only one on that street who behaves in such an idiotic manner.

Her aberrant behavior has been like that for years.  She would even come out and scream at us when we drove the fire truck up there for driver's training.  A sad and pathetic soul who needs to be reported to the SB CO Sheriff's department.

We didn't have any traffic going down and coming back up the 2, but our turn-off was at Sheep Creek. I suspect if we'd gone into town further we'd have been really sorry. (We were going to and coming from church, ready to suffer if need be! Nice we didn't have to!)

We live at the far west end, so we endure the worst of the traffic on these weekends. I don't mind the snowplayers at all and as previously posted, its good to see families playing together without any electronic devices.

The only thing I do not understand about the CHP is why they let everyone drive all the way up 2 to Flume and then turn them around? Wouldn't it be better if they turned them around in town somewhere? At least they might hit some of our local shops? I must be missing something, anyone know the reasoning here?
