I must be the wierdo. I really do not mind then playing in the snow around the house, I enjoy watching the kids have fun with the sleds, and making snow men. The only problem we have had is someone "borrowed" our shovel. Probably to fill their trucks with snow. WE have not had a problem with trash being left either. We are the only ones on our street that live up here year round.
My only complain is when they load their trucks with snow, I wish they would take some from around our driveway, lol

You know, maybe those leftover diapers would have worked as sandbags last weekend when the rain was about to come in my front door....hmmmm - that is an idea I should patent. Diaper material as sandbags....whaddya think?

Well, I would guess it would depend on what was in the leftover diaper, yuck, lol

Of course, the (diaper) sandbags I sell everyone would be fresh as a daisy!   ;D

I'm on my way to your neighborhood tomorrow with my wife and 2 pre-school daughters. I'm doing research on where we can get out of our car and play in some snow for a while. This is so interesting to read about snowplayers and ghetto snow and diapers. Now I know how NOT to behave. I'm going to do my best to be very respectful of your yards, eat a meal at a local restaurant, and have a fun time. I totally understand where you're coming from, and hope we don't ruin your day..... :)

there were no snowplayers on our street (cardinal road) thank goodness!!! but i did see them by down the hill as you turn out to hwy 2. a truckload of snowplayers stopped by our driveway to ask us where they can shovel snow into their truck and we just said not from this neighborhood!!! >:(

But, if they shovel it OUT of your driveway, is this a bad thing?

Hey Wrightwood, how does that crime scene tape work at keeping the snowplayers out?  ;)

Hey Wrightwood, how does that crime scene tape work at keeping the snowplayers out? ;)

I used yellow barricade "caution" tape in conjunction with properly posted No Trespassing signs to help reduce the number of snow players on our property. There were still people that went around the caution tape but it helped.

I hate to sound like a pessimist... but the idea about having them shovel the snow from your driveway is a great idea... except if they hurt themselves.... you will be supporting them for the rest of their lives... unfortunately.

Three days later the signs of the weekend snow players are still evident.  Went for a morning walk with friend and my two "kids" a Yorkie and a Yorkiepoo on what we call the water road.  Starts near the grade school and runs along the highway.  I am going to take the same walk tomorrow but take a trash sack to pick up lots and lots of trash left behind.  Lucky for me...didn't see any diapers.

I understand it's just too overwhelming for the local law enforcement at these times

Don't create a law that will not be enforced.  And don't do selective enforcement only during fair weather months when the locals are out responsibly enjoying the forest. >:(

Oh really????  So only locals are required to have adventure passes???  Well, a lot of you in Wrightwood must have gone to Big Pines over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend because they sold 553  daily passes and 42 annual passes.

And when you are wrapped up in things like rescuing a 4 year old that slipped down a cliff and smashed her head (if she did survive, she'll probably have permanent brain damage) writing $5 "notice of non-compliance" tags takes a back seat.  It was total gridlock and chaos--you have to triage the situation in times like these.
