That effect is simple but really changes the feel of the photo.

If you haven't done it yet...take a look at Royce's work on his website.  Very impressive base of work.  He is very talented.

Since I joined the digital world a few years ago, I wondered why I waited for so long. Having your own editing at your fingertips is worth the money and time. I'm currently using P/S CS and have my order in for the recent upgrade. Here's one of my earlier attempts at a montage I did for a friend of mine. I was shooting for the league that year and his son was on the team. I used a sunrise that I had shot from the roof of where I work for the backdrop, then using seperate layers and feathering, I cropped and brought in Tyler's images.

Has anyone used the frame and matting plug in that's available free? It's great !

You can design your own matting in any color and multiple mats up to three layers and blends. It's cool to print then frame the picture. You have to get up close to tell it's not real matting. If I can find something on this computer I'll post it.

Ok, I found one I did for my wife of her Flemish. I call him Mr T but his name is Tank. Believe it or not, that is a dog bed he's in! and his potty box is a plastic concrete mixing pan....he's a big bun. My wife does rabbit rescue and we have four of our own that hang out in a bunny condo I built for them.

The matting has such a three dimensional look to it, it's hard to tell. You can choose the lighting fade direction which gives it depth.

Here's the Wabbit condo I built...sorry bad res because it was a scan from a film shot my wife took and our scanner isn't picture friendly.

Sharing Photo Techniques

After seeing the layering that Firefighter Steve was doing I thought I would share this:

Here is a LOMO faking technique for photoshop, try it.

http://www.flickr.com/groups/technique/discuss/12082/

What is a LOMO? A LOMO is a cheap eccentrically designed Russian camera whose lens has won it many fans, for strange reasons. Pictures taken with it are readily distinguishable with their high contrast, disortions, edge blur and shadowing. All of which combine to produce pixs that produce dramatic effects.

Here is a sample, from my brother, of a LOMOized candid in NYC.

Notice the dark edges......
