Fire personnel responded to a brush fire in the Cleveland National Forest near Anaheim Hills Friday morning.

The vegetation fire was initially reported at 15 acres, but that estimated was revised to 50 acres later Friday morning. The fire was reported in the 30500 block of Silverado Canyon Road, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

No structures were threatened.

A column of smoke could be seen from miles away.

The fire began during a stretch of dry, hot days in Southern California. Triple-digit heat and dry conditions are expected through the weekend.

Mandatory evacuation orders have been lifed for the Silverado Canyon area, east of 30311 Silverado Canyon Rd. Residents only may access their homes using Silverado Canyon Road, however, Silverado Canyon Road at Santiago Canyon Road will remain closed for non-residents.

Residents should be prepared to present law enforcement with identification and proof of residency when returning home. Road conditions may still present hazards; motorists are reminded to drive slowly, use caution and be aware of public safety equipment in the area.
