Maybe the two agencies are cooperating with each other? I don't really care who is doing it, I'm just happy that it's being done!

Highway 2 is a state highway, under the jurisdiction of CalTrans and CHP. Table Mountain Road, I believe, is under the jurisdiction of Los Angeles County. Mountain High's facilities are in L. A. County.

I love that finally there is a coordinated effort to keep the roads safer for everyone. So glad the fines have increased- that should help. I do see a problem with the wording. For most of the snow players, the first place that they see with snow is their destination....

Fines don't stop speeders even when traffic officers ticket the same drivers multiple times in the same week.

Might be lucrative revenue source though... and the fine should be $500

Over the 16 years 've been volunteering in the field out of Big Pines VIS I've seen a lot of campfire activities either by disbursed camping and in the winter snow play months BBQ's along side the road. All of which I've written IR's for. I found this picture on social media and called Angeles Dispatch immediately. They initiated a IR and notified Law Enforcement and assigned a Fire unit to investigate. It is not okay to have a BBQ fire pit on the deck of Big Pines VIS. It's unbelievable what kind of mind set would do such a thing. Where is the enforcement that is needed during these times.

When you get off of CA-2, CalTrans and the CHP aren't the lead agency, it's SB Public Works and the Sheriff (or L.A. County if you're across the county line).

Not knocking the Sheriffs Department, but it'd be nice to get some "enhanced enforcement."

PSA: This is NOT a good place to stop and play in the snow, you may end up with a hefty fine and paying for towing fees. Only park where it is legal and do not trespass onto private property.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's wrote over 100 citations today for illegal parking and snow play. They are doing their best to combat all of the craziness we experience every winter. If you are having an issue, PLEASE call it in. They need the calls so they know to send more resources up here. Some parts of Wrightwood are CHP (Hwy 2 and Lonepine) and the deputies can't help with that. Anywhere else? Call the non-emergency line and they will do their best to help.

I don't know whether it's legal or not, but I don't think that there's any motivation from authorities to stop you. I think they only really care about parking and trespassing on private property.

Today was the first time I ventured out of my house since the storm last Thursday, I had an appointment in the middle of town, then picked up a week worth of mail and went to a couple of other nearby stores for necessities. Traffic wasn't nearly as bad as what I saw from videos over the weekend. But waaay busier than I had expected, with kids back in school and people hopefully back to work. Did they all call in sick?
