I see it as a new opportunity... no more "moon bounce".  A new form of communication, where we just bounce signals off of paratroopers as they descend, is born!

As a kid I can remember driving up 395 at night to Bishop and seeing war games going out in the desert. Perhaps that was China Lake, not sure, but I do remember seeing flares falling from the sky, aircraft and many lights on the ground from vehicles of some kind. My uncle told us that they were training exercises I just remember that it seemed to cover a vast area with a lot of action and movement going on. Probably in the very early 80's. Very cool sight for a young kid and his cousins.
