View of the smoke from PH seems to show less smoke than last night. I'm having trouble accessing this site directly. The 'topic reply' link is working fine.
Hope everyone is ok. cheryl o7o

I was mesmerized by this live video feed all day yesterday, I assume today will be no different.

Thanks for that perimeter map John. Lets hope they get some paint down in Lone Pine before the winds kick it up hill.

Yeah, they jumped on that quick and got it out. Helicopter dumped directly on it and a water truck finished it off.

Is there a local radio station covering the fire? I recall one station took off all it's programming to cover a fire a number of years back. cheryl o7o

According to the KML file below, which if you have Google Earth allows you to "fly" around the most recent official fire perimeter, the fire burned just east of the ranch.  Channel 11 has a helicopter up but it's too far east and there is too much smoke obscuring LPC to be able to confirm.
For those with Google Earth - KML file

This is on the evacuation list:

East of Sheep Creek, south of Phelan Rd. and west of Green Road, including the Desert Front Rd. area.

The Desert Front Rd. area makes sense, but I don't understand the East of Sheep Creek west Green Rd doesn't make sense to me.  What am I missing?

And Green Road in Pinon Hills goes way up and stops at the far end of Desert Front Road.

Does anyone know if any structures damaged or lost near Mountaineer Progress area close to Rancho and Wild Horse Canyon?
