Hmmmmm.makes you wonder about how last night started....oh and in the same immediate area.  Hopefully he confessed. These guys are very difficult to reform and even harder to catch.  Good job by the Railroad police.

You are right Jim! I hope they keep him off the street for a long time.  It seems like more than a coincidence that he had all that flammable material in his car.

Don't want to spread rumors or details that are being kept secret for a reason, but I've heard from somebody who knows somebody that there's a big reason to suspect arson for both the BlueCut and the Pilot Fires.

For last night's Ken Fire, though, wouldn't this guy have already been in custody?

Well, they weren't started by lightning, and I have a hard time believing Blue Cut was an accident.  As far as I know the pilot fire started near a very popular jeep trail.  It has a name and a few features whose names escape me but I've been on it once.  Lots of motorcycles buzzing around at high speed were encountered so unless they found actual evidence of arson that one could very well have been accidental.  As for the Ken fire, I've mentioned here before that someone has been setting fires at the Kenwood onramp to the 15 freeway for YEARS.  I think it probably averaged one a year.  I think I recall one year there was two or more.  I can only recall one that ever did anything more than burn the brush adjacent to the offramp.  If I recall it burned along the south side of Devore and up to the ridge on the west side.  But it's obvious even to a casual observer that someone kept doing it.

They are going to rake this guy over the coals for sure. :alert:

The words I would have to describe these arsonists, who have caused so much devastation, are NOT printable on this family forum. I don't know if this thought will be removed by a moderator, and if it does I don't mind, but if that is true, I hope that individual rots/burns in Hell.

Every indication points to an OHV starting the Pilot Fire:

The question came up on the cause of the Pilot Fire.
Initial CHP reports indicate a Razor that caught fire in the OHV area.

Interesting article - if you haven't seen it as it's not the first time that a Polaris Razor has caught on fire.

There you go - old news  ;D

We even spotted an outfit that takes you on tours of the area when we were up at the Pinnacles just before the fire.  Was looking into doing this: http://www.enjoythemountain.com/lake-arrowhead/

I'm not saying the Razor involved was one of theirs, mind you.  Who knows, maybe, but their website says they use another trail.

I'm glad the R.R. police were able to spot him and stop him.  Fires attract arsonists.. whether they started them or not. It does seem like this guy was ready to go for another one. Congratulations to those officers.  cheryl o7o
