Wrightwood disaster?
« on: Jan 15, 17, 08:29:34 PM »
145.2800      - Wrightwood Disaster Communications Group
145.5200      - Wrightwood Disaster Communications Group

These are listed on the site as disaster communications, however they are consistently filled with private communications. Its gotten to the point we removed them from all our radios. Are these correct listings? Or just a typo on the site?

Yes those frequencies are monitored and used in Wrightwood and are not normally very busy.

The 145.280 must be used with a tone of 131.8 for the Table Mt repeater
TableMtn   145.280 -  (Enc/Dec) 131.8 (WR6AZN 2m repeater)

The 145.520 was changed to 145.525 some time ago and is the primary simplex frequency for this area.
WW2 Simplex (old) 145.520  (new) 145.525

Thank you. Yes, lots of personal communications. Pretty much every day. Weather, working on airplanes, home town buffet etc. lol. Actually interrupted some crazy stuff going on at MH and then we decided, ok. Deleting these!!!

Maybe the confusion is arising because those frequencies are listed as disaster communication frequencies. 145.280 is a repeater for normal everyday communication that just happens to be very useful for disaster communication because of its wide area coverage. It will only be used for disaster communication during time of need or testing. Otherwise, it is a normal repeater with all the personal communications that go along with that usage.
