Auto car washing / detailing service

Hey you Wrightwoodchucks,

With the spring arriving, I thought I'd start an auto washing / detailing service in Wrightwood (my car is 1st...after all the snow and rain...it looks like hell!). And i wonder if y'all could assist me by doing the following short survey:

1. Would you use a local (in Wrightwood) car washing / detailing service?

2.What do expect from a car washing / detailing service?

3. What's the most important thing about a car washing / detailing service to you?

Just a friendly recommendation. You can create a free survey monkey for up to 10 questions. Rather than asking open ended questions you might want to give people choices like "How much would you pay for...?", etc. I would definitely be interested.

we haven't had a mobile car wash in WW since Jamie moved to Las Vegas!  Kris & I would definitely be interested!

How would the run-off be disposed of? It's illegal to let it run into the ground or down the street.

Where is the law stating this?  I have heard versions of this many times.  Honestly, I am just curious (and it is too late to look it up...plus I am currently lazy)

I don't know about the WW water co. Here in PH, there were restrictions on washing cars and allowing irrigation to run-off during the drought.  Turning the water off and not letting it run while washing your car, etc. Those have been lifted, but it's still a good idea.

When you operate a commercial car wash you are responsible for disposing of wastewater generated by the process. If you were discharging that water to a sewer system, you would need a permit from what ever agency treats the water. In this case there is no agency. I would double and triple check regulations on this. I'm pretty sure you can't discharge untreated wastewater (which waste detergent, dirt and oil from cars would be) in to any water way period. Be very careful on this. These can be real big boy fines.

I'm not sure that a mobile wash/detail operation would have the same wastewater requirements as a "car wash" that's doing a thousand cars per day.

I also suppose there are "best practices" that minimize use -- and you'll want to use clean, probably reverse-osmosis water that you wouldn't have in quantity, so....
