CONTACTING SHERIFF HERE IN WRIGHTWOOD
« on: May 13, 19, 06:30:33 PM »
Hoping someone has the answer to this one.
Need to know how to contact the Sheriff or powers that be here in Wrightwood to report a possible stolen vehicle.  Truck has been parked in the middle of Logwood and Flume Canyon for over 2 weeks so I tried calling the Sheriff through information.
Call 1 they send me to the Wrightwood Sheriff substation which has a disconnected number.
Call 2 they send me to the Hesperia Police Dept which I spent 10 minutes listening to option after option.
Call 3 they send me to the San Bernardino Sheriff's who tell me it's in L.A. County.
Call 4 they tell me it's in San Bernardino County.

I would sure hate to see an actual emergency here in Wrightwood since we have NO ONE here to assist.

Anyway, if you lost a blue Ford Ranger Pickup that is pretty much beat down, it's on Logwood and Flume Canyon.

Just trying to be a good citizen is tough these days.

What?  Folks not knowing how to summon aid when they live in another county?  Been going on for 47 years that I know of.

Everyone should have a list of emergency numbers near their landline and in contacts on their cell phone.

Great topic!  I want to add, I called into the Phelan substation last week ....was transferred to...who knows where.  Non emergency, suspicious activity of prior criminal scoping out hiker stuff ..going up and down park and Hwy 2.

It was the worst call, dispatcher couldn't understand what I was saying, had no clue of where we lived..well I won't go into the call...but she thought we lived in Woodwright and that the subject could only walk one direction. I tried over and over to get her to understand...that this guy was just walking North South East and West....  I know, I sound looney...but trust me, I watched him for over an hour and a half....I hope not all calls are like that....no LE ever came or phoned me back to confirm...

thanks everyone.  I found that I needed to call the Palmdale Station and they kinda handled it.
