First, THANKS FOR THE UPDATES and info across the board regarding the Covid-19 Virus.
I'm now hearing that 15 people have tested positive.

My question is this. Does that 15 include those who tested positive back in March and have recovered?
Or, is this 15 active cases now?

Again, thanks so much for all you do. I really appreciate all the info here on the Forum.

WW is now up to 16 cases. (Some here think there are more.) Phelan 143 & Pinon Hills 41. Those are all cases from the beginning.

Deaths are 549. 7-day average of positive cases is 14.8. We need to be at 8 to open up. More striking to me is the drop to age 23 for the median age of positive cases. Tell your youngin's to get with it with the mask thing.

I think it is good news that the median age is 23 - This means older folks are paying attention and making common sense decisions with staying out of situations where they might contract the virus, (and younger folks probably are not - but it's really ok). Further younger people are not in much danger so the quicker they become immune the more older folks are protected. I see the SNF's are looking better. The SNF Deaths are not increasing as fast as they were, which is really good news. Somebody is doing better at managing the SNF's.

The positive case metric is not a good number to set policy with unless of course we actually did have an effective vaccine in place. Maybe that will be the case someday.

Our policy at UIA is if anyone is sick for any reason we pull them out and get them tested. The problem I had was that the testing was taking 5 to 7 days and I paid any employee in this predicament for the entire time they were off and waiting for the test results. I finally found a place that has rapid testing, same day in fact.
There are many advantages to rapid testing

1. We get the results and can make on the spot decisions
2. Employees that work with the one being tested feel much better if the test comes back negative
3. If a test came back positive then we would pull everyone that worked with that employee and get them all tested and quarantine those that test positive.

Clinica Mi Pueblo in Victorville. Costs about $200 bucks a test but reasonable given the quick results. Great people and straight forward. I highly recommend them.

It's a little harder to find, but, apparently, we're up to 28 confirmed cases in Wrightwood. That would be a bit higher with the untested and unconfirmed. I know a few who could not get tested, early on, due to tests not being available. And some had to specifically insist on being tested. So.....it's here.

Wrightwood does have 28 positives, Phelan 202, Pinon Hills 57. Three deaths in Phelan.
