According to the County, there are 28 positives in Wrightwood, counting from the beginning of the pandemic.

Countywide, there are 50,000 positives, with 45,000 believed to have recovered (rounding off the numbers).

That would mean that there are (approximately) 25 people who tested positive, and have recovered, in Wrightwood.

Between Sept 22 and 29, our county reported 31900 tests. Since our population is 2.18 million, that's 209 tests per 100K of population. This is below the state median of 216, and for this reason we get penalized and held in the purple tier with businesses and schools curtailed. Not because we're sick, but because not enough of us seek a test we don't need. And now the goal posts are moving again, now counties must document test and case data across income and ethnic groups. I'm surprised there isn't more push back against this tyrrany of bureaucrats disrupting our lives.

A rule of law society is the best way for everyone to live. When those systems of checks and balances are cast aside our freedom depends on it being righted.

I am heartened to see this in Michigan: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-10-02/michigan-supreme-court-invalidates-governor-s-covid-19-orders

The Governor of Michigan does remind me of our own Governor. The executive orders in this State need to be checked.

Regards,

--Wes

Do the math on tests and cases between Oct. 1 and Oct. 8 and it's 1809 new cases detected by over 36,000 tests, a 5% positivity rate. Yet on Tuesday the county was informed that, after statistical adjustments, it was another week of failure and our 2-week clock has been reset yet again. The earliest the SB county can officially move out of "purple" is Oct. 20. Restrictions on businesses continue, restauranteurs risk their permits if they allow indoor dining, and no possibility of schools having kids on campus before Thanksgiving. Had enough yet?
