It looks like a nice radio. My suggestion is that you gather a number of freqs and repeaters that you want to program into your radio and then sit down with the manual and do it. One after another. After a few channels you'll be amazed how simple it becomes.
You learn best by doing...
Get as familiar with the radio and its features as you can. That way they'll stick in your head. That's what I have to do, now that I'm old. 
Exactly what Bob said, fortunately that's a very easy radio to program. I echo all 'dat....make a list and sit down and program by hand. Well, since the software isn't available any longer, I guess that's all you can do.

That radio has U.S. automatic repeater shift built in so that's an easy one. But you need to learn how to turn off the repeater shift for simplex. Once back into VFO, you will have to turn the repeater shift function back on. "F" key then the #4 (rpt) and turn the dial to + or -
