O. K.
I would like some serious input about HAM equipment. Like what's good for the price.

Woo Hoo, got my ticket (thats the right word for license right?) from the FCC today. It looks so much more official than seeing it on their website. Thanks again for all your hard work Clint.

Excellent :2thumbsup: I'm happy for him, and that keeps my record of 100% pass rate in tact ;D I get to not count Jeff and Wayne who missed two classes each. Come on guys, your'e making me look bad!

But I guess this means you don't get to  buy a never been used radio cheep.

I may have only passed because my test was graded by a nice group of VE's with a combined age of 1,132...Plus I took it at a mental hospital :2thumbsup:. They studied it quite unusually, I am not sure if they were concentrating on the grading, or trying to remember if they took their pill. Nonetheless, senior moments aside...I am glad they found me worthy...they were a nice bunch of old gents.

I feel so HAMSexy!

Thanks for the great class Clint! Get that wilderness training thing going, and I will make sure I am there!

Okay Clint, it looks like a few more people have received their radio equipment. Is it now time for a hands on radio equipment workshop?

After the hands on class we should put together some regular (or not so regular )  workshops/classes with local repeater groups and/or speakers.

I'd like to get someone from the Keller Peak Repeater Association to come and give us a talk on the different things that go on with their repeater. I think it would be beneficial for all of us to learn more about their Echolink System, Rescue Net, SATERN net, SKYWARN, etc.

Here's a link to their website:
http://www.kpra.net/

Same thing holds true for getting a speaker about the JPL repeaters group.

Another similar workshop/class that is in preliminary talking stage:
Phill Dupree (SBCounty ECS weather support coordinator) has spoke to me a few times about putting on a SKYWARN workshop in Wrightwood this summer. He would coordinate with the National Weather Service to have a rep come and talk about the NWS SKYWARN system.

Congratulations to Class Number 3

Another 100% test, including one General written!

The newest HAMS in Wrightwood are:

Scott Cunningham
Alex Garibay
Keven Garibay
Elizabeth Manning (Start working on that Morse Code!)
Lee Manning
Virginia Martin
William Plummer
Kari Zan

As soon as these folks get their actual call signs there will 101 Licensed Amateur Radio Operators in the 92397 zip code.

Our class has produced 24 HAMS in 15 months

Again, BIG cangrats to all!
