I've have a Stellar's jay nest under my front balcony that's been there for two years. I left the nest last year, and it was used by jays again this year. I also have a birdhouse that Titmouses have used two years in a row. But I think some birds are picky. The birdhouse used by a family of chickadees last year remained empty this spring. I guess that one will have to be cleaned out for next spring.

There are still 4 babies in the nest.

My guess is that they will begin leaving the nest tomorrow.

I just made a change to the livecam view and you will now be looking at the 2nd camera angle. This 2nd camera view will be better to watch the birds leaving the nest.

Question: Is the light flare in the new camera angle from the infrared leds for the original camera or is it a reflection from another light source?

Yes... The light source is from the small infrared leds on the camera mounted directly above the nest.

Reboot your computer. Nothing has changed but the camera image. The computer upload to the server is the same.

I see they are testing their wings. I think it is getting close to sink or swim time or more appropriately fall or fly time. Gonna miss the little guys.
