Hi Matt, that's what this little net is good for. To work out the technical kinks.

And a good thing too!  I spent the rest of the 7PM hour, figuring out what settings I didn't have correct, then programmed the 220 settings into a memory slot, for next time.  Now, I have to do the same with the 2 meter radio.

Thanks again!

Just realized that I won't be able to make tomorrow nights net, due to our son's Cub Scout den meeting at 6:30pm.  I'll be back next week.

73's!

That OK Matt, Neither will I. Robin had wrist surgery today and I need to take her to work and pick her up tomorrow night. I suggest that all of you who are available still have one. So Susan and John can talk to each other. Because my count says that's it for tomorrow. Matt is at scouts, I am playing nurse (you should see me in white stockings, woo hoo) and Jack is training for something or other.

Explain to me again just exactly how we would be able to tell if you had on white stockings or it was just your bare legs? ;)

Ooo, "Et tu Brut'e" Come on now Bob, is that anyway to treat a fellow union member. And besides, the difference is obvious. White and hairy= bare legs. White and silky smooth=stockings. Of course for the most stunning look, you really want fish nets (specifically "industry net") over shimmery tights in a light toast shade. Thats what all the vegas show girls wear. Humph, and people say all those years in theater were wasted.

I'm not so sure your count is accurate.
KG6ZEQ has not missed a checkin and KF6EZZ might attempt the simplex net with his HT - which has very little output power.

So Susan and John can talk to each other. Because my count says that's it for tomorrow.

I was'nt ignoring ZEQ, I just figured sitting in the room across from each other would'nt be much of a net. And I did'nt know EZZ was going to check in. That's great. I'll send you the link to the ARRL news so you play it.

Tonights net should be on 220 @ 19:00. Susan and Jack will not be available. I should be home on time.
Hope to hear Matt tonight

Well, we had two check in's tonight plus your net control operator. The techie trivia question was: If you put a 1/4 wave antenna on your HT in place of the rubber duck, how many dB of gain to you achieve? It's sort of a trick question. Since the rubber duck is a loss, and gain figures are compared to a 1/4 wave antenna at 0dB the correct answer in none. Even thought you do gain over the duck, you only gain up to zero. Next weeks net will be conducted on 147.57 Mhz with a PL of 100.00.

Bob,
We used the 220 band tonight. It was on 222.120 and didn't last very long with only 3 of us.

Bob, I apologize. I should have told you that. We alternate bands each week. I doubt if your scanner can receive 220. Most don't. Next week we will be back on 2 meters as John said.

Because of Cable TV interference in out part of town. You can read that info here. Also as a teaching tool to get people to understand their radios better.

didn't think about interference, but i thought maybe getting familiarized with the gear may be a reason.

You wouldn't believe how much RFI there is in Wrightwood.
