Thank You, John!    :2thumbsup:

I saw a neighbor had a dead tree so I knocked on their door.

They didn't know anything about this program and had been trying to find someone to get the tree down.

If you see a dead tree you might tell the homeowner about this program and give them this phone number to make arrangements.

What a great resource this Forum is in serving our community.

AND the members of the Fire Safe Council!   GOOD JOB!!!    :2thumbsup:

Hello every one, This is Tim with the hazardous tree program.  Just a little information on your current question.  Our phone number has just been changed for our office.  The new number is (909) 336-7080.  If you dial our old number (909) 337-1225 it should roll over to our current number.

I believe that these programs are for the San Bernardino side but why not ask the guy that spearheads the program up here.  Tim Tate is a very helpful young man.  Call him direct or ask someone in his office.  Tim Tate's new phone number is (909) 336-7080

Just a quick note on the free fire wood in arrowhead......
We made an appointment, drove up there in a big pickup, and were ready to load that baby full ourselves.

Not the case.......Not only was it GREAT wood (alot of cedar, pine, and oak, and I believe some eucalyptus) but THEY loaded for us!!

I highly recommend this program to anyone in our area. It is well worth the drive! The guys at the fire station were so nice to us, even though we came right when they were having some relay pratices with extremely heavy hoses etc.

If we hadnt already bought wood this summer.........I would have taken more, Thank you to the guys that helped us up there!

Thank you very much for the kind words dnrfuller.  I will pass those allong to the crew incharge of firewood.  Just a heads up our splitter is broken currently but should be back up and running soon.  For the time being scheduled appointments are on hold and will be rescheduled when the splitter is running.  Should you have any questions about firewood or would like to schedule an appointment call (909) 336-7080 and ask for Mellisa.

I agree with all of the compliments about Melissa and the staff at the Fire Station involved in the free firewood. Although I have not been able to get up there for my wood, Melissa and all of the staff I have spoken with have been wonderfull.  We had to change our first appointment due to work schedules, then  they  called to let me and my son know the splitter was broken and they will re-schedule us at a later date.  I am thankful we didn't drive up there only to find there was no wood available.

Good thoughts for good people!

Is there a limit on how much wood they allow you to have or is it take as much as you can haul? Thanks for any info. :)

For fire wood appointments in Lake Arrowhead you are given one standard truck load.  If you bring your car or pick up they will load it up to a safe capacity.  That means to the top of the bed, if you bring a trailer or a big truck we will give you only what would fit in a standard truck bed as a max limit.  If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment please feel free to call our office.  (909) 336-7080, and we are now taking appointments again.

I hear the Tree Offices are moving, anyone know where to or when? Can we still get the firewood?
