I saw it out my window. I was on the phone and commented that I'd never seen a plane by looking down from my house before.
I also saw it from pinon hills, it was jet powered no prop. I believe it was military, I have spent some summers at Fox air tanker base it was not a common air tanker. It was dark in color, jet powered and had wing tips. And yes it was really low and cool to see. Buddy
Mmm....okay now you guys have me curious. A DC-10 off the line does not have winglets. So that would make it a modified DC-10. Winglets are more typically added on to commercial aircraft but the military has been adding them more and more . But was it a DC-10? A DC-10 is a three engine aircraft. One engine nacelle under each wing and the third through the base of the tail.Did it have that? And was the rear portion of the underside of fuselage swept up towards the tail? Loading ramp.yep, definitely a jet, I looked up some common military transport planes and, although I cant be sure, I think it only had one engine under each wing, anyone else notice? The one engine is what made me think DC10.
