Newbie to forum - 1960's Resident
« on: Jun 24, 05, 02:34:33 AM »
Hey there Wrightwoodites (and former Wrightwoodites).  I lived in beautiful Wrightwood from 1961 until 1968.  My parents, Bruce & Ruth Bailey, owned the Whispering Pines Trailer Park.
My parents helped found the First Baptist Church.  I remember the O'Neals, Grahams, Sudams, Wyatts, and Jones from the church and the Campbells, Bergs, Carters, Kings, Lovers, Andersons, and Hulmes from school---(list not all inclusive).  I've lost touch with most of my friends and school-mates and would love to hear from them again.  (I've seen posts from Local, Yosemite Sam and Graham_Ranch and I'm sure I know them)  So who's out there?

Hello LuvHome!  Happy to have you on board and glad you joined our forum.  I started coming up here to visit in 1965 but did not move up here until the early 80's.  I am sure that you will be able to find out information some of your acquaintances and former classmates!

Good Luck!

Have you heard from anyone yet?
Lots of those names are still around.

I was in the class of '64 and I do remember those bus rides off the hill. I remember one bus driver who turned the bus around and took us back to the bus barn because we sang 99 bottles of milk on the wall. He wouldn't let us use the word beer. I can't remember if our parents had to pick us up or the school district had to get another driver to take us home.

Had to be the same bus driver who refused to drive down the hill when we'd had even the smallest amount of snow...not that any of us objected, as I recall!

The names do come slowly back to memory...but in their defense, I won't list them here.  Wouldn't be surprised if some of them didn't want to be found!   :D

Your cabin has obviously been added-on-to over the years.  That is really a cute place - hard to picture it minus all the other homes that are in the Circle now.
