Those 360 shots on film would easily be $400 to have processed. With today's higher end digitals you can shot 500-1000 shots in a day, process them the same day and come out with a hand full or more of keepers (most of the time). Total cost = $0
Even if you amortize equipment cost it's only  3 or 4 sessions and the camera and lens is paid for.

Wildman definitely has a good eye for composition.

The next three pictures were taken last week, just before the storm.  All of the critters were really hitting the feeders hard.  This guy was absolutely fearless.  I was using my wide angle lens and he was very comfortable allowing me to get very close.  When I was done shooting, I tried Wrightwood's trick and had him sitting on my finger while he drank from the feeder.



Here he is sitting on the bail of an old bucket filled with geraniums...he really looks bedraggled to me.



Here is another.  I really think the hummers look like little flying jewels.

Wildman the first photo with Mtn Top is well done and a very difficult shot using a digital camera.

Thanks, Wrightwood!  The hardest part is getting up that early!
Actually, I think I will be prowling around at dawn when we have these cloud covers...makes a nice effect.

Thanks, Bostonbob but there are many journeys ahead before the Grasshopper would think of that comparison.  I'm barely beyond using automatic everything. 

Wrightwood has an incredible eye and sense of timing.  He also has first rate shooting and post production tools.  I continue to learn from him every day.

Here is a few more.  The sky around here is beautiful any time of day but especially so at sunrise and sunset.  Here is a sunset cloud from our front porch.  The evening I took this, the colors lasted well after twilight and the owls hooting.



Totally different but equally as spectacular is Wrightwood under a mantle of snowfall.   This was a morning several years ago...after a really big dump.  This was one of those storms that took days to fully dig out from.  Can you guess where it was taken?  Maybe this year......

I don't think it's the West end of town because you can't see Sheep Canyon from the West end of town.

I've taken plenty of photos along Hwy2 and they look very similar.

I'll figure it out when I find the folder with all the pictures from that year.  I took a bunch all around town showing the incredible depth of the snow drifts...including one of the squad buried in a road bank.
