That hummer photo is great. The focus is so sharp.  Is that bird looking at your eye?  I wonder if he can see you through the camera?

Beautiful shot of that hummer, Wildman!  I just love hummingbirds - I probably have 15 pairs of hummingbird earrings and always get compliments on them.  The bird in your pic looks so alert, and the colors are incredible.

Amazing photos Wildman!!!

I just want to reach out and touch that hummer 8)

I can't wait to play with our new Rebel XT. Just haven't had the opportunity yet. I am camera challenged. I just don't understand the aperture thing. Looks like you are definitely getting the hang of it!!

I look forward to your photos everyday :2thumbsup:

Thank you, I really enjoy taking and sharing them.  I look forward to each day and what images I might find to look at in a new way.  Here's one that is just 30 minutes old.  I shot a bunch...downloaded to the computer and downloaded here.  This bird is braking for a landing.

Wildman,

Put me on your list for a table top book when you publish it.  Of course I will need an autograph with a personal note indicating we are friends.  I figure the vaule will be higher then if I need to sell it for a new lens.

Same thing goes for Mr. Wrightwood!

You got it, Chuck.  Couldn't sleep...darn owls--I can hear them but can't see them to take a picture.  Here's a few I found in the files that I go through every day to see what is worth keeping or not.

Every holiday, my wife decorates the house in the appropriate theme.  This photo was taken at Thanksgiving and the colors and light seemed to be very pleasing on the dining room table.  I was experimenting with taking pictures indoors at the time.

By now, everyone knows that I feed a lot of birds and critters here on the place.  The Scrub Jays are the most interesting  and comical of the lot.  The colors on this were especially interesting.

Different Jay...different feeder.  This guy was above the Suet feeder at the time.

Finally, this obviously wasn't taken by me but someone asked what we do with our draft horses and this is a good example.  Katie and JC are pulling our hay wagon in the Sheriff's Cattle Drive Parade in Victorville.  I have my two grandchildren sitting beside me who got to practice their parade waves.  This was the year that I discovered they were not bothered by camels and large pigs...both of which were next to our route of travel.

Notice how they are listening (I must have just said somehthing like, "Step up").  They will move those ears around like radar during the entire trip.  I can almost just whisper and they hear.

I do this parade and Bishop Mule Days each year.  The horses thrive on the crowds and excitement.  I think I do too.

Here is the lonely carosuel horse who sits by the pond.

Had to shoot the moon last night around midnight.  Very bright outside and the owls and coyotes were singing.  Some might think that this could be a hint for the Themes thread.....some might not.

Another from the trip to the Alabama Hills in the Eastern Sierra.  Great place for big vistas.

Really cool shots!
I love the Alabama Hills, and the rest of the eastern Sierra. Went fishing there every spring.
I would love to make it to Mule Days some time.  :)
There are also lots of owls in the Table Mountain Campground...but they're a little tough to photograph at night... ;)

Going up there in a week to do some more shooting and should be neat with all the snow they have now.

I'm actually going to stake out two owls that start hooting around four in the afternoon.  If I can find where their day tree is, I might be able to get a shot during golden time when they start hooting.

I'm also looking forward on Saturday to getting a shot of a hummingbird feeder covered in snow and hummers feeding.

Wildman I have a similar shot of a fence, I thought I'd share with you.  I love old wood, it has such character.

Here's a pano of the area, this is on the way to SD somewhere off the 15.  Beautiful place. This is from 3 shots.

Here is an attempt at the moon by me, not full but I love that I captured the craters.....  Hopefully we will be able to see the moon tomorrow night..

Have a safe Friday the 13th.

Nice shots, Angelwolf.  I really like your moon....you can see the craters.  The South Dakota stuff reminds me of a documentary on making Dances with Wolves that aired the other day.  Big, open country.

Did you notice that you now have the job of picking the theme next time in Theme Photography?
