You can see where Adventure Pass monies have been used since 1997 at the following:
Adventure Pass - Passes&Permits - Pacific Southwest Region
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/ap/fees-at-work.shtmlIf you go to the bottom of the page, there are links to reports and photo logs from 2002-6 for the Pacific Southwest Region which includes the Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres, and San Bernardino forests. When you look at the Angeles, don't forget it stretches from WW to Saugus.
BPSquirrel can supply more info, but as I recall the Big Pines VIS was rehabbed by the Fenner Camp folks with AP monies and, I believe the bathrooms across the way were built with these funds. Btw, the Fenner guys are awesome, they also regularly remove the
incredible amounts of trash left along the sides of the road in the Big Pines area. I'm not sure where the funding comes from, but without them, there would be
no way FS personnel could keep up even if left at it full time with no time for their other responsibilities.
Fyi, AP are $5 for a day pass or $30 for an annual pass ($35 if you buy two at the same time). If that's too steep, one can always go in with a friend and car pool which is a good idea anyway.
