I have seen king snakes before (about 3 times) in the Desert Front area.  I am so scared of rattlesnakes though!   :-[ :'(

I love the photos!  Good job Bob!

Thanks a lot Wrightwood! Now I'm being bombarded with emails telling me where on E-Bay I can bid on snake charmer baskets and flutes. ;)

I knew Bob was a charmer, but never would have guessed that his skills included snakes! ;D

I just walked right outside my house to go get some air and I heard something moving around in my racecar parts. I gave them a little kick and a HUGE (3 foot or so) rattler came slithering past rattling at me.

Be on the lookout!

Aren't you sweet Arty! I thought you were going to lead into something about me and selling snake oil. ;D

Hey that Just For Men Mustache Coloring really took all the grey out of my mustache. ;)

Took my dog Marley (lab) to the rattlesnake avoidance training
and just like Wildman said  the first phase was sight and scent They had a snake with the mouth and rattles taped led Marley in from different angles to approach the snake and when he saw the snake they shocked the heck out of him several times(which was kinda hard to see you dog feal pain) Then to the next phase sound and reinforcement of the sight and scent. Now the snakes rattles are shaking like crazy it only took twice and Marley didn't want anything more to do with that snake. The final phase is avoiding the snake were the snake is between the dog and myself and i call my dog to me which ever way the dog would go i went to and when he got to me he was one scared dog. So hopefully this will help around the house or camp or when we are out on a hike one for his protection and mine so like i dummy i wont walk up on a snake. Getting us both in harms way.

Was that here in town? I have only seen one Mountian King and it was dead. They are my favorite snake!
