Looks like there will be a change in SB County radio frequencies:

The Board of Supervisors approved the following items at the Tuesday board meeting in the city of San Bernardino:

Three contracts with Acro Services Corporation, Harvard Consulting Group, Inc., Macro Corporation, RCC Consultants, Alexander Utility Engineering Inc., ICR/Degreed Jobs, and Modis Inc. for the 800 MHz Radio channel rebanding project. The project will update and relocate the existing communication licenses to another part of the 800 MHz band. The project is ordered by the Federal Communication Commission to eliminate interference by Nextel and other commercial providers. The total contract amount for all three contracts is $9 million and will be reimbursed by Nextel Communications Inc.

A more comprehensive list of Frequencies used as well as all the Fire Station numbers in the Wrightwood and Desert area ~~may~~ will soon be listed on this website.

The webmaster has been busy winterizing, repairing backhoes and attending community meetings and hasn't got to the project yet.

I got a Pro 97 a few months ago when it was on sale but i have no idea how to program it $:-\$ Ive so far only used it for the weather.

Ive read the instructions and putting them in one by one is hard and it seems like it would take for ever! Is there an easier way?

I also have a Pro-97. The process for entering the frequencies and then the individual trunking ID, plus the text is a bit overwhelming. There is an easier way, but it will cost you some bucks. There is a program you can buy called Win 97, http://www.starrsoft.com/software/win97/default.asp
this software costs $25.00.

The website explains it all, I have only heard good things about it.

www.radioreference.com has the file that you would need and I think you can buy the download adapter at radio shack.
