Those wacky Russians! What's next, are they going to start tossing their empty vodka bottles covered in aluminum foil to get rid of some more of their trash? ;D

Remember the Russians are only half of the crew aboard the ISS.  There is always an American on board also.  Could it be that there will also be Budwieser bottles covered in aluminum foil circling the earth?   ;D  ;D

So, how many HAMs are going to try and "capture" this bird?  Should be pretty easy.

Here is another link with all the SuitSat info:

Clint,

Just a suggestion.  Why don't you start you own "mini forum" with topics that you specialize in...HAM information, S&R, topography...etc... Link it to this forum to get some traffic.  Then you could be your own moderator.  Run your own show...

Spacesuit Still Transmitting, Radio Fans Say

POSTED: 7:34 am PST February 6, 2006

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- A spacesuit is apparently still sending weak signals as it circles the globe.

NASA said late Friday that the suit had ceased transmitting, hours after it was tossed from the international space station 225 miles above Earth.

But a spokesman for an association of amateur radio operators said those reports were premature. He said the signals are "weak, cold and really hard to copy, but alive."

The spacesuit -- stuffed with clothes and a radio transmitter -- looks like a cosmonaut tumbling helplessly through space.

The spacesuit is supposed to send recorded messages in six languages before re-entering Earth's atmosphere and burning up.
