SkierBob.. These are such great pictures!! I love them!! Thank you.

Now, where is the pic of the roadrunner in this series? I see the hawk.. I see the crow. The roadrunners here are back this year as well. I am thrilled. We always had a pair that would race around here with their babies. After the big snow, several years back, they were missing in action for a number of years.  But, they are back. I haven't seen little ones yet.  I do have several watering stations here on the ground as well as a bird bath. I'll just keep watching. cheryl o7o

The critters are really hitting the guzzler.  It took 30 gallons to top it off this morning. I expect they'll continue to drink plenty as it warms up this week.
The natural spring has dried up.

We managed to get him in a 5 gallon bucket using a broom handle and took him for a drive to a new home out in the boonies.

Finally spotted the road runner pic.. she was in the shade to the left of the crow.  I had one sitting up on the 5' fence outside my window here.. then she hopped/flew up into the Joshua. Not sure if she has a nest there. I have my eye on it. She was in again last night going on dusk. So, I'm hoping she has babies nearabouts. I haven't seen the male yet. They're a bit bigger with a smidge of blue in their feathers.

Was that a young mountain lion at your guzzler? It seemed too big for a bobcat.  loving these photos.. cheryl o7o

It's a very healthy Bobcat.  I haven't seen this individual before.  The other Bobcat I have pictures of isn't nearly as big.

We were fortunate to watch two juvenile Cooper's Hawks at the guzzler this morning.

Thank you Wrightwood for the amazing and beautiful video of the Cooper's hawks!  We are so blessed to be able to view the birds and see details of their features and wingspans as they stretch and take a break at the guzzler thanks to your great photography.

The video was taken from over 200 feet away using a 600mm lens and a Canon 7D.  That's why I didn't have sound of the pair making lots of noise.

I wish I could have posted the full HD version on YouTube but it was just too large.

We had one catch a dove (IIRC) in our backyard a few feet from a window.  I've got video of it eating it's meal.  After it was done, it wandered over to a puddle and stood in it.  It was winter, miserably cold out, and it just stood in the water.  I can't imagine what it was thinking but they certainly seem to have an affinity for water.

I believe we had one of the Coopers Hawks here in our backyard yesterday afternoon.  MakGirl got some pictures of it, it looks to be similar to the one with the longer tail feathers.  Since we are not that far from Wrightwood, I figured it may be one of the same birds.

Interestingly, the Stellar Jays were VERY noisy from cover, while the Hawk was in the area.  And no bloody banded doves around either (much to my dismay).
