Reminds me of the fishing pier on the Jersey shore. You take photos that take you back to the place you visited. Very nice work.

now that i've learned to re-size, i can show you the green flash. i have never seen it. iguess one has to get lucky, or it's akin to the "jackalope"

this is an easier to see photo of the nene. they are proported to be descendent of the canadian goose.

I just love all of these coastal pics!!!!

Here is the Haceta House in Haceta Head, Or. It has become a B & B and you are very close to the Haceta Head Lighthouse. It was very misty that day.

Here is the Fresnel Lens in the Yaquina Head lighthouse. We climbed up the 93 steps to overlook the magnificent Oregon coast. The lens was an amazing sight.

Great shots, everyone! I'm flying to Portland in a couple of weeks, love Oregon, have seen the Heceta Head lighthouse but probably won't make it over to the coast this trip. Thanx for sharing!

So THAT'S what the "Green Flash" is!! I've heard about it. Too cool!
So what causes it? The last rays of the sun refracted before going below the ocean horizon?

I didn't have a tri pod with me this day, so I couldn't get the shutter speed slow enough to show true water flow. But hand held at a shutter speed 1/20 and f-5.6 with IS lens and it didn't turn out too bad. The location isn't any where exotic though

It's a water fall and mist sprayer at the L.A. Zoo for the chimps.
