Not much was done except the B&W conversion.  Thanks for the compliment.  I will upload another shot to help you answer the other questions.

Dude! That is truly and fantastically awesome!!!  Notice the water peeling away from below the throat... Do killer whales have belly buttons?  Because it looks like it.  Every single droplet of water was frozen in time.  How many mega-pixels? What are the details?  That shot kicked down the house!

I took this with my Canon 40D in a mode called small RAW. I was just playing with that format that day.  Makes it  1288x1936. 
ISO 400
Exposure -1/3
Lens 28-135 IS...I was tired from shooting a wedding the day before so I had on my travel kit lens (lighter) Still a very sharp copy
Small bit of sharpening and bring back the sky in PS and here it is...

PS the 50D came out yesterday and the word is it has an iso

Yep, all mammals have a belly button, you just may not be able to see it.  And I agree--what a kewl pic!

We used to have lot's of posts from all our great photographers around town. What happened?!!!!
