Neither of the two guys in the rear have any type of eye safety on. An ejected shell by another officer could put the guy out of commission.
I don't think you can judge the distance from photos taken at a distance.
True, but in the real deal they do wear eye and ear protection.....remember, this was a reinactment segment we did for a TV program. We all wore ear and eye protection when we did the entry-flash bang event.
We are getting off topic of posting pictures and it's my bad, all wonderfull I may add also.
Horse Apples gets the "less lethal" guess correct. It launches what is called a RAP projectile meening "Ring Airfoil Projectile" and it is 64mm in diameter filled with a chemical substance known as tear gas. Upon impact it breaks a membrain on the projectile. For demonstration purposes it is filled with baby powder. There is information about the design features of the RAP on the web. I was given the ( one of a kind) weapon to test and develop repair velocity and function aspects. My paper is close to being completed and in the publishers rap.... pun intended.

The second weapon is in fact a smaller (hand held) version of what the military is currently using. It's basically what the DOJ calls the RAY gun that emits a microwave towards a centuralized object, or subject. Cooking hot dogs at 50' is kinda cool.
I get paid to test and anylize this stuff.... woo as me

Ok, back to cool pictures from members of this forum who do such a great job.... much talent here.
But.... one last one... Me with my best "Ok Punk....Make My Day Face"
