While we're on patrol all day the weather changes drastically. I started taking a small pocket cam since we need to document incidents sometimes with photo's. Got these the last couple weeks. No photoshop, just a circular polarizer on a lensmate with a Canon G-9 auto mode.

SD...VERY nice!
I had to send my Canon 100-400 L IS lens to Canon repair because it was not focusing right. It is not under warranty any longer, it is costing $318 for calibration..yikes! I have no choice, what good is a lens like that if it cannot focus??

Amazing shot! I wish I had your camera yesterday. My friend and I stopped just short of Mt. Baldy summit in some rocks to hide from a high gust of wind. We sat there very still for a minute facing east and from our left came what looked like a dart! It passed right by my face and stopped right in front of my friends jacket. It was a humming bird! My buddy was wearing a cardinal SC jacket with a bright yellow image of Tommy on the chest. That bird buzzed so loud and in so close, checked him out real good and then just bolted out across the bowl! Out of sight in less than one second! Man I wish I had my camera ready. What is a humming bird doing above 9500 ft?
