Person "selling" horses in Wrightwood???
« on: Sep 14, 06, 01:41:10 AM »
Did anyone else see the Ch 4 news at 6 tonight?  They did a story on a person selling horses in Wrightwood and the reporter said that the horses were mis-represented, sick, lame, etc.  Some of the people interviewed in the story said that they were out thousands of dollars.  Has anyone else heard about this???  Maybe it will be repeated on the 11o'clock broadcast.

My thoughts are with the people who are victims of these flakes.
I hike by this place a lot and don't think they have horses there any longer - amazing that they scammed so many people all over the place.

Sounds like she is galavanting all across the country posting from different cities. That's depicable selling lame horses and taking money from 3 different buyers for the same horse. The horse world is furious at her. One of the posts in a forum said there may be up to 35 victims.

She is probably just "skip" posting.  I won't use the real name for it so people don't google how to do it, but she is probably still in WW.
IP adresses are easy to manipulate.  It is a shame that she mistreats those horses, makes you want to go take them from her.

You know, my hubby and I had to go on to that property (with permission)  a few Thanksgivings ago as a Golden Retriever had decided to spend the weekend at our home. He had an ID tag, so we called and found out where the dog lived and returned him at the owner's request. I don't think the owner of the dog is the same person as the "horse trader".

As we were walking back down the driveway, I stopped to look at all the horses in this very small enclosure. We noticed they had NO water!!! It was freezing out, so we had to break up the ice in the hose for quite a while to get the water to flow. ALL of these horses tried to drink at once accept for the more subordinate ones who hung back and waited their turn. It was pathetic. We could see wisps of hay in the enclosure, so figured they had been fed. I had completely fogotten about this until I read the posts from the link above.

I thought it was just a freak thing that happened. I had no idea those animals were being mistreated. Kind of makes me sick to think about it. :(

Hi...Thanks for the info. I am one of the people that has helped to organize the victims...Over $200K in losses and over 70 victims. Our main forum is the awhitehorse.com site.

We've slowed her down...but she is still at it.

Det. Brown, out of the Phelan substation is heading up the investigation, but the argument, per the DA, is that these are civil matters...not criminal.

The victims, of which I am not, include DVM's, children, disabled and the hearing impaired, to name a few. How they became victims, granted they do take some responsibility, is of no significance. They paid for said horse and either did not receive it or received an unsafe, kill pen equine instead. I have done rescue work and harbor no ill toward the kill pen/rescue horses, however, if I purchased a registered Friesian, received copies of the Pedigree along with photos, I sure would expect to get the horse that was sold to me.

So civil???...no way.

Thank you again for your help...and if anyone happens to hike past there...I would love to hear about the condition of the horses.

Is it right that there are again horses at the property in Wrightwood?

That is part of the problem....we do not know where she is physically. Historically she runs and hides under her parents coattails on Twin Lakes Drive...So I am curious if she is there. Recently she had told a victim that she lived on Helen Street, also in Wrightwood.

She has been in trouble in the past with animal neglect and cruelty so  I'd also like to know that any critters in her possession are fed and healthy.

Believe me....If anyone of you guys see her please let me know...I know a few people that need to have her served.

I know I am not a resident of Wrightwood; I hope it is okay that I've joined your forum.

Both your links do not have anything about horses or Wrightwood.

Also....I must say as a long time horse owner (9 horses)....anyone who pays anyone any amount of money over $10.00 for a horse seen on the internet or from an ad without a vet check and an in person check out to see if the horse really is a wonder horse is someone who has money to throw away.  I've never bought a horse without having the vet do a complete work up including xrays.

I agree internet horse buying can be risky. I too have bought horses via the internet and have been very lucky.

The thing with this seller...she is very good at what she does. She preys on people and is very convincing and sincere sounding. Please take a look at the awhitehorse forum and let me know what you think after reading some of the victims stories.
